Meet the Hyphenate Behind Hyphenate Consulting
Hyphenate Consulting was founded by Devin Connelly-Vander Schaaf in 2021, after more than a decade working at Accessible Space, Inc. (ASI), a nonprofit where Devin sharpened skills in marketing, web strategy, grant writing, PR, and SEO. At ASI, Devin wore “many hats” and worked closely with multiple agencies and web firms, seeing first-hand how often quotes for websites, marketing, or SEO simply didn’t fit the budgets of small organizations. Those experiences highlighted a gap: nonprofits, churches, startups, and small businesses need high-quality digital and fundraising support, but usually lack the staff capacity and funds to hire large agencies.
After a stretch of freelancing, Devin formally launched Hyphenate Consulting during the pandemic—exactly when “hyphenates” who could do a bit of everything were needed more than ever.
